First post in S/H Community
Aug. 9th, 2005 11:02 amBoy, was that nervewracking. My first public posting of a work. I used to be so open about my writing in Middle School, then in High School it just closed off and no one's seen it since. I don't even think Billy's read most of my stuff. He's read enough to cringe, that's about it. And nothing I've caught him doing. Trying to figure out the online LJ post without Semagic has been a pain. Still not convinced the formatting was right for the forum. We'll give it some time and see how it goes. Here is my post. Don't read it if you're not into slash, MPreg, or greasy old gits. Hopefully the community will like me, or at least give me some useful feedback so I can get better as a writer.
Other news: I just posted my first fic the day before I lose my internet access again! Doh! That shows true intelligence on my part. There's always the library. I've got a day off work tomorrow, and I plan on visiting the manager on my day off and quitting. It's just to scummy here. Late and incorrect paychecks, large ammounts of pissed off customers, poor organization... I just got out of a place that had bad organization. I don't need another job(this place is even worse than the last place) who doesn't know who the boss is or what's going on. New company, ok. Growing quickly, ok. A little confused, ok. Horribly dis or poorly organized with not even an employee handbook or guide, No. I get conflicting answers, depending on who I ask what question. For minimum wage, I can work at McDonald's and at least get paid for what I do in a timely fashion. Not that being able to surf the 'net all day is a bad thing.
Other other news: The wind shifted yesterday, and blew the stench of burnt house right into our house. Like usual, we had all our windows and deck door wide open. The whole place just smells. Can't smell it myself now, got used to it, but Pete and Sandy said it stunk and even we smelled like it when we saw them at the club last night. Ed has to go to the police and give a deposition today about the fire. Some guy jumped out of the builing and sped off in a dark blue Ford Tarus with a girl before the fire started. The girl was yelling 'Call 911' as she tore ass up the hill out of the scene. There's been no mention of this in any of the news reports. As far as I've seen, the people from the back apartment have never been back to sort through their belongings or even cry over the ruins. The lady in the front with the dogs has been back a few times. Hmm.... with a propane tank on full open in a known drug house... Kinda sounds a little suspicious. But with the cops and firefighters here, it'll all get covered over and written up as an accident even if it wasn't. Look at the Oompa's Bridge Street fire and the Cam's fire from years ago. 'Accidental' my ass on both accounts.
Back to the last day on the job.
