Found this hidden away in an old notebook. Wasn't he a cutie? Says 'Bobby' on the back. Had to be mortifying.

This is my old friend Mixer, still singing the same songs twenty years later. He's actually improved, you should have heard him in '97.

It's not much, but it's what I have. At least it's out there. I'm not in it, I was upstairs or at the back by the main doors while they were filiming. J's in it just for a fraction of a second, as is Mixer. If I can find a converter I'll put up the '97 tape as well.

So I found it. The disk with pretty much our whole relationship on it. And all the missing photos of us together. And the adult photos. I found a voice recording too. It's not much, but it's my Damn Skippy. I don't know how to post it here.

Well, I guess that's the best I can do.

His birthday today. Would have been 59. This fucking sucks. I'm tired of being sad and crying all the time.

Got some stuff done today. Picked up more meds and mowed the front garden. Got some groceries and cleaned up the kitchen a bit. Still feel... not right. Like stretched too thin. Maybe from drinking? I drank damn near half a bottle and I've not the tolerance for it anymore.

Finding the best stuff online now. I don't think it's Terry's tape either. I've still got Terry's video here somewhere. Haven't found the bit where you yelled out about Burger King. :( Only you.

Found a video of Shelby and his kids in 1997 with Mixer singing. God above.

And to tell you how weird things have gotten, the Destroyer show has been remastered and it's just up for free on the 'net any time you want to listen to it. LTTE's probably somewhere. I still think I'm the only one with the Arizona show. Gah, maybe Luis Rey. I still have his book too, all worn and thumbed through, brown with age. Ya know, hang on, we traded didn't we? Not on a tree or anything. I don't think you were on my side after I started being a branch. Huh. Back to the stacks.

I mean, c'mon. Where would we have been in the 90's with this just a few clicks away?

... And then I went down the rabbit hole. It's good to see you with some weight on you, but I liked the long hair better.

I think Pouya was recording in the hotel room, wonder where he is and if he still has the tape.

I'm back from my trip, safe and sound. Will write up more later.

Immediate thoughts: Don't be a hoarder. No matter your choice of hoard, it's all a problem for someone else. Flashlights are good. 100 are not. Dirty, oily rags go in the trash, not 5 gallon buckets. Also, send your change to the bank. Don't put it in 5 gallon buckets.

Drove home. If you don't know Ohio is a 24 hour trip from Texas. The first day got to Nashville. Drove all the way home the 2nd day. Drove past JR's old stomping grounds and cried for hours. I haven't cried over him in years. Wanted to stop and try to find his grave - glad I didn't. Turns out he was cremated. So no flowers on his grave. Just kept driving and crying. Twenty years too late.

Did tool around Bullit county a bit. Really rural, rough roads. Earthy. Somerset is pretty rural. Didn't stop into his old town, felt it would have been a bit creepy. He had a wife at some point and kids (he has grandkids now!) that don't know of me. Stalkerish, which is the problem with internet friends. We only met once, but what a great time it was. Mixer has photos somewhere, lost on a floppy drive somewhere.

Still miss him. FWB, three night stand, internet romance, whatever it was. I was more attached than he was, but we did keep in touch right until he got sick and passed away.

Both from '97, which tells you how long we knew each other. He was one of a kind. Not overly educated but sharp as a tack and funny as hell. Hung like a horse too, but that's another story.
