Tim and Amy finally did it; they got married on Monday. She's going to stay in American and as she puts it is 'never going back to Malaysia again'. She's doing much better on her English, but the social context to her speech is still from the wrong hemisphere. I'd say I can understand her about half to two-thirds of the time now. As much as I dislike Tim, Amy seems pretty cool. Wonder what the heck she sees in him other than Green Card. She has done the world of good for him, getting him off drugs, cleaned up, and working with the Union. She stuck with him all through probation too, which was remarkable. Don't know what a beautiful oriental millionaire investment banker sees in an redneck ex-con from Shitesville New York. As long as their happy. I know Tim's mother is happy someone is willing to look after him and keep him on the straight.

Other news, William had an ear ache yesterday and called off from work. But he felt well enough to mud and paint the dining room. So now half of the dining room is moss green instead of various shades of plaster, lathe, and drywall. Looks alright, but strange with the left side still white and the right side green. That and I have no dining room again and the house is torn up and shuffled around.

Because he stayed home, I was unable to play my guitar and write. I'm only a little sensitive about my lack of abilities (I've been told I'm much better off teching that singing) and I simply cannot play with anyone else home. Guess that puts an early end to my stage days, eh? So I did the dishes and putzed around on the internet, staring at old photos from the Taubertal Fest in 2004. Can anyone say costume malfunction?

Oh yeah, and to the slag who stole the pink Lizzy shirt (among other items) we're watching Ebay and we'll find yer skanky ass.

Listening to it now, in fact.  Lossless format, excellent.  Lives up to everything written about it.  Crystal clear soundboard mix, truely something that should have been among collectors for years.  Wonder where it was dug up from.  (Hopefully not the same source as the Oh My God tape.  No stealing!)  There's only one problem.  Being a '75 show, the band's preformance can fluctuate wildly.  This is not one of their better shows.  Plant sounds like he's got a oil slick in his throat, missing notes left and right.  Lots of pinched off nasal sounds.  Pagey is sloppy and strung out.  Typical Pagey playing.  Flubbs and dropped notes rampant.  Jonsey is a little too on the ball compared to the other guys, and sticks out too much.  Consumate performer, but he can't control his band mates.  Bonzo rocks, as always.  Even falling drunk off his throne he still rocked.

Damn, Pagey...  EEch.  Don't play if you can't find the fretboard.  Still, for what he must have been on it's a wonder he was standing up.  I couldn't do better straight.

Pagey should start putting out live shows, like Deadheads have the Dick's Picks.  Doesn't have to be prefect for me to buy it, just has to be 'the band' warts and farts and all.

Great quality, though.  Glad I downloaded it.  Remember back in the day, trading?  Not knowing what deck the other guy had a praying he didn't use the high-speed dub?  Locking the hubs before mailing?  Scouring the back of unsavoury mags to hopefully meet up with someone and exchange lists?  Large postal bills and having the stange postal people recognize you and ask 'what's up, where you been, didn't see you last week.'?  My birth mother said the guy in the Willoughby post office asked after me when I went away to college and stopped visiting.  The desk clerk at the dorm in Youngstown thought I was important 'cause I'd get multiple large packages every day, all trades going on.

I miss some of the people, and I did enjoy the organizational part of it (I usually branched), but it's so much easier to get a .ape file or some other from the source.  Everyone gets a 1st or 2nd gen copy.  How wonderful is that?
