101F here today according to the bank sign downtown. I'd believe it too. After two days of being in the hot sun, I feel sick. Headachy and I feel like I've been run over by a lorry. Too much cheap beer.
Power was also out today all afternoon. Swealtered out the hottest part of the day with nary a fan. Whole grid went out, everybody was going nuts. Managed to take a nap on the cool(er) hardwood floor until most of it passed. Now I'll be up all hours 'cause I slept all day.
Went to the inlaws this morning for Father's Day. Watched the kids play in the little plastic pool and moved around the yard with the shade. Only had to catch Nell from running into the street half a dozen times. Pretty sad when I'm the fastest runner of the bunch. Didn't do much else, too flippin' hot. Couldn't even think. Still am not thinking right, even now that it's cooled down and I've showered. Work tomrrow, and the office is always cold. Summer's the only time I really appreciate it, cause it's downright cold in winter - people wearing anourak's indoors. Think I'll throw on a light jersey dress tomorrow and just soak up the cool.
