I'm just gonna vent.

I sent somebody a critical review of their fiction. It was a good story, but needed work like every fic does. So I reviewed it and sent it back, being 100% honest and trying to be helpful. Being a lot less harsh than the publishers who have rejected my crap.

She emailed me back stating that I hurt her feelings.

WTF? Grow up, I want to slap her. It's a good start, I told her that repeatedly. It just needs work on the plot structure and character developments. You can't have a flat character as a lead. It just doesn't go anywhere. Basic story telling elements. She had been a good friend up to this point, now I get a weird vibe from the whole thing. If you expect all empty fluffy praise for your work you're never going to grow as an author. I was trying to help.

I realise that not everyone writes on the same level, or is capable of the same output, but I never meant to offend with my review.

I fucking *hate* upsetting people.

My trackball died today.  After eight years of faithful service, it's gone to the hardware repository in the sky.

Born in a factory in Taiwan, Trackball immigrated to America as a youth, finding it's way to a store shelf in Mayfield Ohio USA.  Trackball lived most of it's later life in New York, enjoying quiet nights online and the company of his constant companions Empty BeerCan and Dirty Ashtray.

It's owner, Suz, is said to be distraught at it's passing.

Trackball is survived by it's sisters, Colour Monitor and Altec Lansing Speakers, and it's mother Seagate Hard Drive and lots of cousins.

This mouse thing sucks!  I want my trackball back!

There's something strangely forbidden and ironic about writing a double penetration scene while listening to Art Garfunkle and the Everly Brothers.
