Nine Lives Review

Got my copy of Plant's latest: Nine Lives. It's... not bad actually. Picture on it is probably the worst thing about it. There's a lot in the box, well worth the money even if I had all the albums previously. (Note to Jimmah- yes, I'll buy in duplicate if you'd just market the damn stuff). Nothing much new with the CD's, been there done that. The few bonus tracks were middling. Assorted live cuts and unissued tracks which have all been on bootlegs for years. I loved the documentary that came with it, it's obvious Rob is trying to be 'ho humm I'm just a bumpkin singer' but it's suprisngly informative and interesting. I don't care much to listen to Phil Collins or Tori Amos ramble on (heh heh) but it was a good watch. The booklet, if you could call it that, it's more a novel is awesome, lots of pictures and goodies. The Music Videos on the DVD, meh. Can't say I cared much for his MTV stuff aside from Big Log. He's not a visual/telly type of person.

Aerosmith Update: New album due in Spring of 2007, despite Tommy & Tyler's illnesses. I obtained a copy of a demo, 'Sedona Sunrise'. It's.. COUNTRY! WTF? Will it get airplay, certainly. But country, from the hard rocking guys outta Boston? What is the world coming to? The whole album better not be like that. (taps fingers on table)
( Cause I miss Mick Ronson )
Spent all yesterday at the inlaws. So much for getting any of my stuff at home done. And I got addled with baking ten more batches of cookies. I should look into renting a bakery on an off afternoon and just do 'em up that way. There's little chance they'll all be able to go through my oven successfully.
Hitting the post office today at lunch. Have to mail out my Secret Santa thing finally. Weather is good so going to do it now.
