Apr. 19th, 2007 12:38 amThe stuff that is coming from the Farm is just simply stunning! It has kept me very busy the last few days just sorting through it all. Audio, video, pictures... I think Tony's really serious about letting some of it out to fans. Don't know how he did it, but he's got the masters from the Mike Douglas show in .. must be 1976. Yeah. Stuff with Tubs and a bit with Chester. Not Hogweed stuff, not precisely, mostly W&W onward. More Tony in that Cannucks jersey. (salivates) Quite a few copies of 'Ripples' - can tell the guys liked playing that one. 'Robbery etc.' finally get to see the keyboard parts played. Just amazing, no one plays like that anymore.
The finances are simply mindblowing. The Live Earth tickets have gone on super sekrit presale (how sad is a 100 seat presale?). For a seat in Giant's Stadium in E. Rutherford NJ (hah!) it's $127. Fricken Giants Stadium is *not* where that type of music should be played. But... from the band's viewpoint, $127 x 10,000 give or take minus the venue rental & insurance & costs is still a huuuuuge money maker. Plus they've wised up & done the Platinum ticket thing so that'll be about $400 for those tickets they reckon. All that times 21 dates, plus the freebee at Mandalay Bay and Steve's an idiot to stay home. I've no idea even what the Euro shows are netting. A friend said the Holland show was in a huge venue as well, and I know there's been like 70,000 Euro seats sold. It's just insane. Junie has been so swamped. I hope Armando goes along for the ride.
2008 is looking suspicious, just from talking to Alan Hewitt and Nick Davis. Phil said something cagey to a radio station on the 18th. Can't say anything, but keep your ears open. We'll see how the trio does in 2007.
