Welcome Back Party

Had my 'welcome back' party at Humphrey's last night. Was fun. Loud.

They even got me up to sing one, and I Don't Sing, with the Captials. Funny as hell, I was hoping for Red Barchetta or Rock and Roll Machine, but they started into 'Why Can't This be Love' and I just clung onto the microphone and glared at them. So then Billy Law started into 'Poundcake'. He saw me shake my head no and he just laughed and kept on. Totally coincidental, but slighly amusing none the less.

Mikey always makes the line look easy, Billy was really having to work it.

I don't believe I'll quit my day job to become a vocalist any day soon.

But it was a good time, nice old shack out in the country so we could do whatever. Wish I would have had my camera, one of the drummers (don't know his name) was gorgeous. Super Skinny, long hair, long face, fine nose. Tailored jeans, black boots, and a white blouse. DAMN! Only turn off was he was using triggered drums, but that can be easily solved.

Anyway, parade is today. I've got to be down at the bait shop to meet up with mum in half an hour, better put some clothes on and find my shoes.

Load in is at 10:30 - an ungodly time after being up until 2am. The show won't be very good today, I could tell Paulie was drinking a lot and Lloydy - well, it's Lloydy, what can you expect?

Tired

Have done three gigs in 24 hours and I'm tired. Last night, then 10am and 2nd show at 4-ish with the parade in the middle. Worn right down, should probably be passed out technically but I'm still standing somehow.

Was good, overpowered out the outdoor gigs. Tripled the wattage per the usual for outdoor venue and it was too much. Don't think I set the stereo mix much over -20.

Good warm up for BAP next weekend. Thing is going to be massive. Well, not massive like Euro circuit massive, but big for around here. A lot of different setups, it'll really test me.

Can't sleep

Still too wound up from the shows. Can't sleep. Dead tired and need sleep, but don't think it'll be coming. Layed down for a bit, quickly realized it wasn't going to happen. Would be one thing if it was just on the bus, do it again tomorrow, but I have to go to the day job. Back to the daily grind. Just started getting back into the rock and roll mode and I've got to pull out of it after two days. Hell on the body. Can't stay on it either, not this soon.

Dead tired. Going for a cuppa and then will try lying down again.
