I got to thinking today as I ate my supper alone of all the fandoms I've been in over the years. Trying to figure out why it's so hard to disconnect from the Hawkins group as opposed to all the others. It's not the music, I still listen to John Lennon but I'm not active there anymore, still listen to Yes but haven't been active on NFTE in a few years... So something other than the subject matter has me hooked on the Hawkins boys. Boy, perhaps.
* 1989-ish Beatles
* 1989-ish Monkees
* 1991-1995 Star Trek
* 1995-1998 Beatles
* 1996-2001 Zeppelin
* 2001-2002 Beatles Gutter Gang/Blue Sub
* 2002-2004 NFTE (Yes)
* 2003-2006 Snarry (Harry Potter)
* 2005-2007 Sound on Sound
* 2004-2007 Hawkins
So, after spending a majority of my time on Lennon and the Beatles and a longer straight time on Zep, why the hell is it so hard to walk away from Paula's? It's not like I never made friends on the other lists, or I was closer to anyone on RLB. Hell, I've never even met any of them. And I've certainly spent more money on other groups and had more fun at other gatherings (ZepFest anyone?).
I think I just need to get off the computer. Get back into real life for a bit. Work on the studio and the sewing and get the real connections cemented with people that can actually help me. Lloydy and Terry and Pete.
Who knows where I'll go from here. I'll keep the LJ for now - until they delete me for having a libido. After that, blogger's looking good. Don't know about IJ or GJ - I only want someplace for me to keep my diary. Not someplace for everyone to read the shite that goes on in my head.
Bugger, and Anthony Wilson has died. Shite, they're all kicking off now, even the younger ones. He used to manage Joy Division back in the 80's and was a good Manchester guy, always in the scene.
Off to write the not so upbeat FLocked post! Woohoo! I'm a psychopath!
