Back from surgery and just about dead on my feet. Have been up since 4am and they finally kicked me out of hospital.
Surgery went well, they found a lot of extra whatthefucks they called it. There was some stenosis, a buch of scar tissue, and some neovascularization due to the injury that they removed. The surgeon said he straightened out the nerves after removing the vertebrae. Err, yeah.
So I managed to see William once they got him to his room. He was pretty fucking grumpy. I know, 'how could you tell?' you ask. But the nurses were actually pretty decent and he calmed down after a couple doses of drugs. And another few. He's got a stong constitution.
He did not need a catheder. He was freaking out about that. Really, it's just a tube up your peepee, but men are weird about stuff going in the 'out' holes.
William is up and walking, passing fluids and eating solid food. He was asking for Reese's Peanut Butter Cups, so he is on his way to recovery. Left him with a bunch of chocolates and a goodnight kiss.
Doctors are supposed to call me tomorrow with his pickup time. I hope it's soon. He really needs a cigarette. And a beer.
He is kind of pissed off at the doctor. He was chatting with the nurses in anesthesia and the next thing he remembers is asking them when they were going to do the operation and they said it was already over & done. He *hates* losing time and that gap freaks him out.
I can't even see straight anymore. Going to bed. Will hopefully have another update tomorrow.
