Tuesday Ramblings
Sep. 4th, 2007 10:45 pmBunch of suprises today.
Work was the shit, as it always is after a holiday Monday. Lots of idiots all wanting to pick up their stuff. Umm, hello? I had the day off yesterday too, and if it wasn't done at closing on Friday, it's not done right now either, k? It got rather hard to be smiley and polite after the fifth or so person. And the kids all start school again tomorrow, so the not stellar but not completely unmindful parents all brought their brats in to have their glasses straightened/tightened/repaired. Oh, they've been wearing them like that for a year and you just realized school was starting tomorrow? How long's he had those sores behind his ears? I swear, some parents are just oblivious.
Got home and there's been burglars. Someone took all the garbage to the tip. They stole my garbage! Bastards!!
Russ came over and picked up the extra mirror/vanity set we'd purchased on clearance at Lowe's a year ago and never used. He'll put them in the Fulton house as he rehabs it. Saves him from buying the things at full price and we changed plans and aren't going to use them anyway. When else does one find a brand new, unblemished bathroom vanity for $2.99? Shit, even if none of us used the mirror, it would go into one of the jobs eventually. Can't ever turn down a good clearance on house/carpentry stuff. One of us will find a use for it.
Clutter gone - gotta love it!
Hubby did the dishes. Like all of them, even the pots and pans. He must be feeling better. He hasn't been able to do that in months.
And then he took me out for dinner. And he showered again before we left. I was kind of wondering who kidnapped my husband. Maybe the people who took the garbage switched bodies with him or something, like that XFiles episode. Morris. Hahahaha, what a nerd I am. Had a nice supper over a bottle of chianti and it was good. Then bought two more bottles on the way home, one a nice Medoc, the other a cru bourgeois from Burgundy. Yum yum yum.
Then he sent me out East and I figured they'd switched bodies again. Stopped at the hell that is WalMart and bought some new light bulbs (3 way ones) and a lampshade. Smokes, a six pack of Strongbow (my fee for running errands at ten at night), and a DVD from Blockbuster.
He's watching Saw #1 now. From all the screams and noises I can tell it's not my sort of film. I see all that kind of stuff when I sleep, so why would I want to watch a movie of it?
The chantix must be working. William's commented that he thinks he has to have a ciggie, but he gets the pack out and thinks about it and he doesn't really need one. Never would have happened before the pills, and he's only been on them since last Friday. There might be hope for him yet. Will be nice to have a tobacco free house.
