Vetrinary Practices
Nov. 1st, 2007 09:42 pmThat abcess that Ian had - the one that I've been self treating for the last week or so?
Finally got him into the vet today. She shaved it a bit more and poked at it. Then said 'Well, you've done pretty well.' She updated his rabies shot and sent us on our way.
The bill? $125.
I don't mind paying for health care, but if I'm going to be the one lancing and draining and treating with antibiotics from the Farm&Fleet store, I don't really need to see the vet to have her go 'Ok' do I? I don't even get haircuts for $125.
Amoxicillin is amoxicillin. Whether it's packaged for human, bovine, or poultry, it's the same drug. Just have to buffer it out so it's the right solution for a five kilo feline.
Thanks for the Rabies shot - gonna see if I can vaccinate my own animals from this point on.
