Home Again!
Apr. 28th, 2008 07:46 pmI've made it home after a rather painful and layover ridden series of flights. Really, just to go from LA to NY I don't need to stop anywhere in between. Seemed worse than the flight out, which had me going to Boise via Portland (like going to Germany via Italy). Reality it was less time in transit, but just seemed to long.
Came home to find
A) 1010 still not sent out for repair
B) Clogged main drain has not been roto-rooted in my absence
C) Water now backflows from toilet as the tree roots have started their spring growth and completely blocked the line. Damage to bathroom floor and greenboard walls. Plus a damn stinky mess.
D) Have a caseful of laundry and due to above, no on site laundry
D2) Truck is full of garbage that hasn't gone to the tip lately.
E) Was greeted to the welcome home of "What's for dinner baby?"
F) It's raining and chilly
Yeah, so not so happy. Have a lot of stuff to do before working again tomorrow. Dang, real life sucks. Have to drag it out through Harborfest and then it's back to it again. Hopefully can spend some time with Liam & the girls and get the studio sorted out properly.
I want:
A) A bath, in my own tub, with bubbles
B) Solid, decent meal that does not consist of hot dogs, cheap pizza, or pasta in a chafing dish
C) Clean clothes (pairs well with A)
D) My slippers
E) More than four (4) hours of straight sleep
Not too much to ask for, is it? Went to bed at about 4am this morning, was up at 6:30a to head to the hell that is named LAX. It's been downhill ever since.
Have everyone to write back to, but like the US Government I'll get around to it as I damn well can. Just sorting out the irreparable clothing and junk in my suitcase will take days.
