Jan. 4th, 2018 11:24 amBeen busy, I thought for sure things would slow down after the holidays. 65 hour workweeks leave very little time for anything else. Now have 2 coworkers out on FMLA due to catching infectious diseases in the ER and (of course) there is a hiring freeze so no bodies to work the hours. Trying to spread 100/hrs a week between three people who are already doing 60 is not good.
Got up early, only got four hours of sleep but have been on the phone a better part of an hour already. Making dr appointments was the easy part, now I've been on hold with the mortgage company for 28 minutes. My phone battery isn't going to last much longer.
Ma is having a blast in SC and states she wants to move there full time. A week is a bit too early to tell I think, but I'm glad she's enjoying it. Got plans set up to visit her in February. Taking time off work, they're going to have to deal with it. My PTO is maxxed out and I need to burn some of it.
Got some chicken curry stew brewing in the kitchen and the whole house smells great.
Need to get going soon and pick up the car battery for the Hyundai. Advance Auto had a 30% off sale and the old battery won't even hold a charge when I put it on the float. Sucks. Hoping it works, maybe some new gas and a battery and it should start up with some TLC.
Still working on Ma's new Nook. If this Nook7 isn't the most cumbersome, unfriendly program I've ever met. Damn Nook Library won't do a thing without Wifi, which Ma does not have at 75 years old. Won't read anything from the SD card, which I dumped all of her books on because she does not have Wifi. Useless junk. Makes me really want to switch her to a Kindle. She loves her Nook Touch from 2011, too bad it's just worn out and won't hold a charge anymore.
