Walking Downtown
Jul. 21st, 2018 12:42 pmHad to go downtown by myself for fairly inane reasons last week. Took the Mass Transit Bus to try that out. Ride itself was actually quite lovely, much less stress than driving in the Houston Madness. However, did have to walk a bit downtown past an abandoned hotel and some scarily empty lots. Was pleasantly surprised at the large police force present, even on a day when there were no major incidents. I could never use that option with William - he's sick enough now that he can't walk a city block - but for me it worked out just fine. Only problem was that it's so frigging expensive. Busses in both Ohio and New York are half the price of the Houston busses. Not sure why either. Houston is no more spread out that Cleveland is - maybe a few extra miles but nothing to justify doubling the price. It's $2.50 from Hopkins to Tower City but $5 from Kingsland to a random street corner downtown.
Record heat out today. Brad is hitting upwards of 108-110, thankfully here it's (only) 100-102. Still too hot for me, but looks like it should be over by next weekend. Not that 97 is much better, but every degree counts.
