Tropical storm is blowing through with little impact on my immediate area. Grey skies, a bit of rain, but nothing like they're getting to the east. Maybe only an inch of rain. It's been more drizzly than rainy, hasn't stopped me from working on the lawn or going to the pharmacy. No flooding, no wind. Seems to have missed me. Another day or two and it should blow over. Dropped the temperatures down to high 80's which is nice. I can breathe for a change.
Ma's complaining because up in NY dirt week is starting. She moved to an apartment just off the speedway and they're going to block her road for the next two weeks. Amy's already told her to shut all the windows and vents because of the flying dust. Glad I'm not there anymore.
Fave used bookstore is having a moving sale, so bought a bunch of books for Ma. She got rid of most of her book during the move and now we're rebuying them for her as she is bored. Gotta hit the post office soon and mail out a box.
Made homemade chalupas last night. Went about as well as frybread can. I just stink at making it, the first few are undercooked, the next two are perfect, then the last 4 burn. Plus it made a mess of the kitchen, but they were edible. Not quite Taco Bell quality, but for the price of some flour and water it was easy enough. 8/10 would make again.
Back to work tonight, so of course I fell asleep at 11pm and got up at 4am. Going to have to take a nap to get to work at 6p and be up all night. Don't think there's anything pressing this weekend. Oh, dog food. Need more dog kibble. Might go do that in am hour when the pet store opens. Maybe ride my bike. I can fit a five pound bag of kibble in the bike basket or in my backpack. Save getting the truck out again, and the bike has proper fenders so my arse won't get wet. Sounds like getting my exercise and doing an errand all in one.
