Pulled the trigger as William calls it. Blew my wad on 50 boxes of bamboo flooring. It was a great price and I know I can install it. It's actually easier than laminate to put in, plus it feels better underfoot and wears better. Just 3/8th stuff, so it's the same thickness as the oak I used to lay. Don't have the big machine anymore, but it's prefinished. Nailer was stolen years ago out of the sidebin of my truck, so will have to get another Bostich. Worked that into the cost of the job.

Had bamboo in the NY house and loved it. Of course that bamboo was stolen from Tommy Bahama, but it's the same thing. So out with the carpet in the upper floor. The penny says the carpet went in in 2006, so it's time to change it out anyway. Most people re-do the carpet when they move in and we never did. I hate carpet. It's nasty. Who puts carpet in a bathroom anyway? It goes right up to the toilet. God knows who was pissing into the carpet before we moved in.

Have to fix the underfloor. At some point the roof went on the house and damaged the subfloor, so I've got a bit of work to do before I can even start. Wood won't be in for a week or two so I have time. Carpet's already gone, ripped up 1000 sqft in a day. It was nasty. The trash men are not going to be happy with me.

It's more than the laminate we were looking at, but the cost:value ratio was insane on the Black Friday deal.

Sp I might not be around much in the next few weeks. Aside from painting that I still have to do, now I need to get the floors done as well. Timetable, taking into account work, weather, and shuffling the furniture back and forth is early January. I'd like to still write when I can, like now on a break, but I don't want to stretch it out into a four year project like the kitchen.

Trying to write Rob Halford character right now and it's not going well. I know how Rob acts and talks, god knows I've seen enough interviews, but it's not translating well to page. Oh well, it's only porn anyway. This early stuff is just filler and likely to be skipped by the reader. Just got to get it out. Then I can go back to fictionally building my 911. Gotta get the Christmas fics done and out of the way. So far I'm eyeballing two. The other one should be easier so I've put it to last, but this Leather Daddy thing is something else. Hope whoever is the recipient is likes it because I'm feeling totally out of my depth.

Sink Pig

Aaaand it's not the sink pig. Garbage disposal (so typically American) has been on the fritz for a month or more now. It's not really a bother to me as I didn't have one growing up and don't really use it. But it makes the drain an odd size and the strainer doesn't fit properly and little bits of food still get down there and stuck when it's not working.

Had a hunch and finally tested it. Rigged up alternate wiring and the disposall works just fine. So that means it's the plug, line, or switch. Lovely. I'd've actually rather just replaced the disposall for $100. Going to try and trace back where I can cut off that power line and leave it embedded in the wall. I'm not tearing down any more sheet rock. It's a GFCI plug which is good and code, but they're not grounded to anything, so why have the GFCI on there? I think it's off the line that drops down from the bulkhead between the house and breezeway so it should be pretty easy to cut off.

Back to work tomorrow.

1.6k in on the Halford fic.
0 in on the Savage fic.
144k on the bastard.

Still want to get back to my main fic. Didn't think writing a three year old would be so hard. How do they talk anyway? My experience with children is shite. I usually give them crayons and wander away as quickly as possible. Would she know to pick up a screwdriver if they were building something? I'm going to assume the child is smart and would.
