TJ's Orange Chicken
May. 1st, 2020 02:03 amFinally back to normal a bit. Made some dinner and went for a walk. Dinner was a bag of Orange Chicken from Trader Joe's, but at least it was food. I think it was $4 for 3-4 servings.
How's this for a recipe?
1. Cook 1 cup of rice
2. Preheat oven to 400F, open bag of chicken and place on baking sheet.
3. Submerge packets of sauce in warm water to defrost
4. Bake chicken for 18-20 minutes
5. Serve.
Somedays that's all I can do. But it's one of the better things they sell, aside from the $2 wine. Seriously. Two buck chuck is on par with a lot of $10-15 bottles. Just ignore the varietal listed on the label. Shiraz tastes nothing of a Shiraz and the Chardonnay is quite restrained for a Californian.
William likes the chicken, which is another plus. It's very similar to sweet and sour chicken. Ma would probably like it, but I don't think there's a TJ within 200 miles of her house. Hang on, they put one in on Erie Blvd by the Barnes & Noble. Not far from where I used to hang out. Wasn't there back in the day. Huh. Still an hour drive, and as good as it might be that's a long ways away.
Wish I could do something else, but it's 2am now and I still feel a bit shitty. Gonna drink some more water and read.
