Finally cracked open my bottle of Jura Journey. It's bad. Or it's going to be bad because it tastes wonderful. The smell alone is much better than 99% of anything else I've had (exception of Maybe *maybe* Makers Mark). There's a bit of an alcohol burn, but nothing nose curling. It tastes like whiskey to me, haven't been able to get my palate much better yet. It doesn't burn and make me drink heavily to get past the initial skank. It's just smooth. Sippable. Doesn't even need ice.
The good news is I won't have to slam two ounces to get through the initial flavour profile. The bad news is that I'll drink more just because it is actually straight up drinkable.
And I like whiskey. Even bad whiskey is usually good after a few shots. If I can limit myself to a set amount and just enjoy the day's dose we will be ok. If I like it and want more & more & more there's going to be a very bad problem.
Damn, it doesn't even burn on the way down. It's just warm.
And that was my pour for today. *looks at clock, have the whole rest of the night ahead*... Uhh, not good.
