Bargain Clothing Shopping
Mar. 11th, 2006 06:18 pmYay! Went to the local seconds shop today and found some amazing items. Would have spent a lot more money if they weren't closing for the night. Only had about twenty minutes to make a mad dash for fashion.
Best of all, I tried them all on when I got home and they fit. Yay!
Dark Purple velvet blazer by NY & Co - $5
White trousers, button up the side by Ralph Lauren - $5
OD twill trousers (tall) by NY & Co - $5 (a little large in the waist but easy to take in).
The pants are for me for work, but the blazer is for William. He will look awesome in it! A nice white shirt and black tuxedo pants and I could take him anywhere. He is capable of looking like he stepped out of GQ or a Gucci ad, even if he doesn't usually dress like it. The Potter-hair has to go; either he needs to grow it longer again or trim it neater. Birds and small animals are going to start nesting in it shortly.
Did not get to the grocery shopping. Spent three hours with my mum at the shop. Just keeping her company. It was really dead, but there were a lot of people browsing. As long as there are people going through it, business will pick up eventually. Canal Commons is very nice, especially for local businesses. Small shops where people can start out or run a small boutique. There's always something different there, and none of it can be bought at WalMart (die evil empire).
Ran into John Musacchio too. He looks good and says law school is treating him well. He had his girlfriend with him; she seemed distant and didn't look me in the eye at all. Can't imagine her dealing with his father but oh well. Not many people can deal with Bill and live to tell about it. We got updated, haven't seen him in probably six months. Talked about wine, he's got a taste for big red too. Pointed out the new wine shop in Canal Commons to him - he did buy something but I don't know what. Poor guys still stutters a little, but not as bad as I remember it being. He'll do well in life if he's just himself. He's very personable and honest; not the first person I'd think to be a lawyer. Maybe a public defender or for pro bono work.
Made chicken quesadilla's for lunch. First time I tried to make them. Came out alright, mine was a little singed because the frypan was too hot.
Going to attempt to make some apple strudel now. Have no apples and will be using the applesauce I canned in the fall. Should be interesting.
