Found the car of my dreams, I think. Too bad I'll never have one and Reliant has stopped production a few years back.

Taken from 3 Wheelers.com. Found a photo of a car last night that was even more me, but I've lost it and can't find it again. All I remember it was a very limited production from the Isle of Man I think. Old newspaper scan. Didn't have a reverse gear, but had a nifty handle on the front so you could lift up the front and manually reverse the thing. It was about 3' wide, 4' long and 3' tall. Really cool looking, just for shopping about town and on the small islands. Would not work here in America at all. But... has to be much better on petrol consumption. If only people would get over the need for speed, we could all have little economical cars. (sigh) Ok, whinging over. But I do like the looks of them. Saw a tiny tiny new Ultra-Mini-Cooper in the Price Chopper car park last week and loved it. There were shopping carts bigger.
Still have the grand idea of moving out of Consumer!America to somewhere else. Romanticising the foreign, I think. I'd love to live in a little crofter's house on the sea as a hermit. Just me and me sheep. Hell, just to get away from the gluttonous American ideology would be beautiful. Anywhere, really. Anyone want to trade citizenships?
