Found a song I'd been looking for *forever*! It showed up in my Yahoo radio station as I was baking the cherry pie just now.
The Honeycombs - Have I The Right
It caught my ear as a child back in Ohio on the oldies radio station. The DJ never said who it was, but I could tell it was about 1964 and all I could gleam from the lyrics was the 'Come right back, I just can't take it. You got to know that I love you Sherry.' I have been searching forever under variations of that line hoping to find the song.
Fekking thing was engineered/produced by Joe Meek himself. No wonder why it caught my ear. Even as a child. Recorded at Meek's own studio. Hello? Could someone have please pointed me in the direction of some TRS cables at ten years old instead of having to fight for it? I had that song stuck in my head from hearing it once in my mother's Ford Taurus on the way to the Super K Mart in Mentor eighteen years ago. That's kind of freaky when I think about it.
Now all that I know that's left to find is that damned Peter Noone song, and I'm half tempted just to write to him and ask for a copy since no one else apparently has one.
