Paul Hamann

What a shitty week so far. Not only did Paul Hamann die (the man who taught me practically everything I know), but Paula Balish's mother also died. Bad day for the Mentor/Concord/Chardon Peeps. :( Paula's mom was old - granted, but Paul was still young and had so much to offer to the world in his own weird way. My god, the things that he touched, all the way from James Gang and Lemonpipers to Pere Ubu and Wild Cherry and Grand Funk... All gone because of throat cancer? Fuck that. You know, you never had to say anything to him. He'd just cock his head and run in and make an adjustment and it was perfect. That's real genius. Then he'd ask if you wanted a fish sandwich for lunch and he'd never say another thing to you all day.
