So, ended up with a new truck today. The Chevy Cruze (imagine the most beige-ish car you can outside of a Sandero) lease ended and we were finally able to get out from it. Ended up with a Colorado, a moderately middle sized pickup 2.5L V6 2wd 4door thing. Short bed, but that's ok. Engine is better, power is better, gearing and transmission are better. The poor Cruze was a stop gap that went on far too long. I can't begin to list it's deficiencies here, except to say that it was boring. It wasn't bad like a Fiat or a Lada, but there was nothing interesting about it either. It drove. Accelerated moderately, braked moderately, interior was just average... Meh. It was the perfect MEH car. 'Cause that's what one said after driving it. Meh. It is bad? No. Is is good? No. The Cruze line ends in 2019 anyway, so bye bye to Lordstown, Ohio. The Colorado is put together in Missouri I think, which if I'm not mistaken is actually a Chinese or Japanese plant. Will have to get under the hood and play with the Colorado a bit but for now it feels good. Stiff in all the right places. Turns well. We will see. Chevy is known for electrical glitches and transmission issues, give me a few years and I'll get back to you.

In writing world, I'm still plugging away on the James May fic. Up to ~40k words, all horribly out of time or logical order and in need of massive editing. As I write out scenes, I'm thinking of the ending. I know like about 4/5 of the way through it how the girl's (OC, self insert, Mary Sue with someone recognizable's name) father finds out about her relationship. But after that... I don't know where to go with it. Maybe have them run to South America ala Hannibal Lecter (read the book, not the movie) or something else. I can't imagine the James of this universe being able to either stay with her or stay in England after everything comes out. But I can't figure out how her father would react to the consequences of his negligent parenting over 18 years. He goes and confronts James about it, yes, but then what? Does he take a hunting rifle with him or does he steal his daughter back or does he just escape? And what does the lovely couple do? Run? Hide? Go public? I've probably got to get everything in chronological order before I can figure that out. There's been hints that 'father's' marriage isn't doing well so that's an added stressor. The Jeremy character is already out of the picture, I've written that bit. I've only got a few more scenes in my head to rough out and then it's going to be months of editing, and normally I'm not big on editing. I see something in my head, write it, check for typos and tense and give it a thorough proof and then it's ready. This one is so different, and I'm not sure if that's a good or a bad thing. The last really strange one I did (Megadeth fandom) with the bouncing POV's was a simple edit, mostly coding the HTML for the colours. This bastard is going to be a monster.

Picked up 4 hours at work tomorrow starting at 6am, so I should probably get some sleep. Even if i get up at 5 and rush out the door, with the time change that's only 4 hours of sleep again. Thank god I'm drinking heavily. Starting to feel sleepy. Gin and tonic seems to be my sleepy time drink. Good to know. Unlike some I have 8oz of gin and pass out, not two bottles. Hopefully I won't get burgled.
